On 26 July 2023, media published information about heavy rains on 25 July in the municipality of Chalco, state of Mexico, Mexico. Media is reporting wastewater flooded a large part of the municipality, the heavy rains increased the water flow and caused one of the barriers holding the wastewater to break. Almost 250 homes were affected. Brigades of local and state agencies have been working to evacuate the liquid concentrated in that area of Chalco.
