Guatemala (Update)

On 27 November, the Guatemala National Coordination for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) published an update on the ongoing severe weather/rainfall in the country. CONRED reports that there has been a total of 2,984 weather-related incidents across the country (an increase of 308 incidents since the 21 November report). As of 27 November, the severe weather incidents have directly impacted 23,702 people (an increase of 4,539). Additionally, 52,284 people have been evacuated (an increase of 10,947). The number of affected homes has reached 23,702 (an increase of 4,539), with 21,939 of these homes sustaining moderate damage and 498 suffering severe damage. The report is available from: CONRED

 

Wildfires

Ecuador (Update)

On 26 November 2024, the Ecuador Risk Management Secretariat (SNGR per its acronym in Spanish) updated the information regarding the wildfire situation in the country. According to SNGR, between 1 January and 26 November 2024, a total of 5,450 wildfires were recorded across 22 provinces. These incidents affected 1,845 individuals (334 increase since the 19 November report), with 251 directly impacted. Additionally, 47 people were injured. The report is available from SNGR
