On 27 January 2023, the Civil Defense of the state of Espírito Santo, provided an update regarding the heavy rains occurring in the state. There are at least 11 roads affected across the state and 2,794 people were evacuated (919 increase since the 25 January report) in the municipalities Mimoso do Sul (2,620 people), Bom Jesus do Norte (142 people), Linhares (24 people), and Afonso Cláudio (8 people) due to the heavy rains. The municipality of Linhares remains on alert due to hydrological risk. Additionally, the municipality of Mimoso do Sul has published their declaration of a state of public calamity due to the heavy rains.
