Colombia
On 25 May 2023, the Colombia National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD per its acronym in Spanish) published information regarding the rainy season in the municipality of Rosas, department of Cauca, Colombia. A national calamity situation due to the rainy season and the La Niña phenomenon has been declared. At least 222 families were affected, and the government has implemented a National Plan to provide homes to these families. The report is available at: UNGRD
Guatemala (Update)
On 26 May 2023, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) published a report on the rainy season affecting the country. There have been 77 severe rain weather incidents reported (26 increase since the 15 May) and at least 60,413 people were affected (12,562 increase). In addition, 1,725 people were attended to (178 increase), 201 people are categorized as at risk (111 increase), 455 people were evacuated (116 increase), and 6 were deaths reported (4 increase). Additionally, 297 houses were moderately damaged (38 increase) and 14 severely damaged (5 increase). The report is available at: CONRED
