Dominican Republic (Update)
On 24 August 2023, the Dominican Republic Emergency Operations Center (COE per its acronym in Spanish) published preliminary report No. 7 regarding the passage of Tropical Storm Franklin in the country, with 32 provinces under yellow alerts (7 additional provinces since the last report). There were 3,390 people reported as evacuated to safe areas (3,110 increase since the 23 August report), 9 shelters are open (4 decrease) with 89 occupants (223 decrease), 3 houses were destroyed, 680 houses were affected (131 increase), and 24 communities are isolated (18 increase). In addition, 27,329 people are reported as being without electricity (379,217 decrease) and 92 water supply systems were affected (11 decrease), with 91 fully out of service affecting a population of 1,289,083 (29,770 decrease). Chile (Update)
On 24 August 2023, the Chile Ministry of the Interior and Civil Protection (SENAPRED per its acronym in Spanish) published updated information on the frontal system occurring in the central-southern region of the country. SENAPRED reports 3 deaths, 41,532 people isolated (7,356 increase since the 22 August report) and 34,086 people evacuated (504 increase). Additionally, 44 homes were destroyed (41 increase), 2,899 homes suffered severe damage (2,603 increase) and 21,832 were moderately damaged (20,939 increase). The report is available from: SENAPRED
