On 22 July 2023, the Government of the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada has declared state of Emergency due to the heavy rains in the province. The most affected areas were East and West Hants, Halifax Regional Municipality, Lunenburg, and Queens counties. To date, 2 deaths were reported, and the heavy rains caused significantly damaged to roads, bridges, dams and other critical infrastructure. According to a media report, 4 people are missing.
