On 23 August 2022, the Guárico State Government provided information about heavy rains in Guárico State, Venezuela. In Ortiz and Juan Germán Roscio Nieves municipalities, the Risk Management System was activated, the Civil Protection and Disaster Management team was deployed along with representatives of government entities and institutions andprovided an immediate response to more than 209 families affected in the area due to the overflow of the Vilches and Paya rivers. According to a media report, more than 300 families were affected.
