Brazil (Update)

On 23 May 2024, the Government of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, published updated information on the heavy rains affecting 468 municipalities of the state (one increase since the 22 May report).

Haiti

On 20 May 2024, the Civil Protection of Haiti, published a flood alert for four departments due to the heavy rains occurring in the country. In addition, media is reporting 50 people have been injured and 200 homes were affected overall, and in the community of Bassing-Blue, in the Nord-Ouest department, more than 300 families were displaced. United States of America (Update)

On 23 May 2024, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) published information on the severe weather affecting portions of the Central Plains and the Midwest. The report indicates there were five deaths reported (one increase since the 22 May report) and one shelter has been opened housing three people. Additionally, in the state of Iowa, 35 people were reported as injured. The report is available from: FEMA
