Guatemala (Update)
On 22 August 2024, the Guatemala National Coordination for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) updated their information regarding the ongoing rainy season, reporting there were 1,526 related incidents nationally (12 increase since the 20 August report). As of 22 August, there were 8,328 affected persons (13 increase), 23,284 evacuated persons (37 increase), and 24 deaths reported (1 increase). In addition, 8,328 homes were affected (13 increase), of which 7,213 presented moderate damages, 741 with minor damage, and 374 were severely damaged. The affected infrastructure includes 588 roads (4 increase), and 42 bridges (1 increase). The report is available from: CONRED
