On 21 February 2024, the National Institute of Civil Defense (INDECI per its acronym in Spanish) provided information on the heavy rains that occurred on 19 February 2024, in the department of Tumbes. According to the information provided, a total of 314 people were affected, with 52 homes affected, and one home destroyed. Ecuador
On 20 February 2024, the Guayaquil government, Guayas Province, Ecuador, provided information on the heavy rains there. There were 45 sectors affected with more than ten sectors experiencing power outages. An Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been activated. In Porsoja, a small village within the municipality of Guayaquil, homes were flooded and almost 40 families were affected.
