On 18 September 2024, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management of Colombia (UNGRD per its acronym in Spanish) informed that 21 wildfires are currently active in the departments of Tolima, Cauca, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Huila, and Nariño. On 19 September, media is reporting 381 municipalities on red alert due to wildfires. Ecuador (Update)

On 20 September 2024, the Ecuador Risk Management Secretariat (SNGR per its acronym in Spanish) published updated information on wildfires across the country. Between January and 20 September 2024, there were 3,178 wildfires (185 increase since the 17 September report) among 22 provinces, with four of the wildfires remaining active. A total of 570 people were affected and 227 people were directly impacted. Media is reporting 140,000 people affected by the water shortages due to severe drought.
