On 2 February, the Dominican Republic Emergency Operations Center (COE as per its acronym in Spanish) reported that 15 provinces remain on yellow and green alerts due to risks of possible flooding of rivers, streams, and ravines as well as urban flooding. The provinces on yellow alert are Montecristi, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, Valverde, and Santiago. According to a media report, the heavy rainfall damaged 1,488 houses, destroyed 4 houses, displaced 7,440 people, and has cut off 2 communities. In addition, 3 aqueducts are currently out of service and a road has been affected. The reports are available at: COE and Diario Libre.  
 
Ecuador (Update)  
On 1 February the Ecuador National Risk and Emergency Management System (SNGRE as per its acronym in Spanish) reported that due to persistent heavy rains the Tejada creek in the city of Quito overflowed causing the mobilization of 2,940 members of the SNGRE team to attend to the emergency. In total, 348 people were affected, 48 people were injured, 12 are missing, and 24 people died. Damage to houses, public property, power poles, as well as several road closures also occurred due to the flooding. The report is available at: SNGRE.
