Guatemala (Update)

On 18 September 2023, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) published an update on the rainy season in the country. There have been 744 severe rain incidents reported (4 increase since the 15 September report). At least 2,053,134 people were affected (1,028 increase), 26,056 people were attended to (25 increase), 6,244 people were evacuated (25 increase), and 9,378 people remain considered at risk. On 18 September 2023, media published information regarding the heavy rains in the Araucanía region, in south-central Chile. There were 11,000 people that were isolated, 238 people were affected, and there were three deaths. Rivers in the region overflowed due to the heavy rains. The report is available from: Infobae
