On 19 January 2024, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management of Colombia (UNGRD per its acronym in Spanish) provided information on a earthquake, magnitude 5.6 that affected Valle Del Cauca. According to the information, 1 person was injured and several damages to infrastructure were reported in the municipalities of Ansermanuevo, Argelia, Cartago, El Águila, Bolívar, and La Unión in Valle del Cauca;and La Virginia and Dosquebradas in Risaralda. A total of 32 homes were affected in the municipalities of: Pereira (n=8), La Virginia (n=7), La Celia (n=6), Dosquebradas (n=5), Apia (n=2), Argélia (n=1), Bolívar (n=1), La Unión(n=1), and Balboa (n=1).
