On 15 October, the Colombia National Unit for Disaster Risk (UNGRD as per its acronym in Spanish), published an update on the ongoing rainy season. Between 15 September and 15 October, 140 events have been reported affecting 111 municipalities in 24 departments. The recorded events have been 45 floods, 34 mass movements, 25 gales, 18 storms, 9 floods, 5 torrential floods, 3 hailstorms, and 1 thunderstorm. In total, 14,319 people have been affected, 14 have been injured, and 1 person is missing. There has been a total of 4,059 houses that have sustained damages, 65 of which have been destroyed. In addition, 39 road points have been affected, 6 bridges (3 vehicular and 3 pedestrian), and 11 aqueducts have reported damage. The report is available at: UNGRD.  

 

Wildfire  

The United States of America (Update)  

On 17 October, the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided an update to the Alisal Fire in Santa Barba, California. The fire has burned 16,901 acres and is 53% contained. It has caused the mandatory evacuation of 878 residents and is threatening 439 houses and 5 non-residential commercial buildings. In total, 4 houses and 2 non-residential commercial buildings have been destroyed and 2 injuries have been reported. The report is available at: FEMA
