On 17 June 2024, the Honduras Risk Management Secretariat (COPECO per its acronym in Spanish) has issued a red alert for the municipality of Alianza in the department of Valle and a yellow alert for the following seven departments, Ocotepeque, Lempira, Intibucá, La Paz, Francisco Morazán, Valle, and Choluteca, due to the heavy rains in the country. Additionally, media is reporting 5,087 people have been affected, with 437 directly impacted, and 37 communities are reported as without communication. The reports are available from: COPECO and Nodal
