Post Tropical Cyclone Helene and Hurricane Milton

On 17 October 2024, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided an update on the impact of Post-Tropical Cyclone Helene and the Hurricane Milton in the United States. In the state of Florida, voluntary evacuations continue in the counties of Hernando, Lake, Miami-Dade, Pasco, and Sumter. Currently, 13 shelters remain open due to hurricane Milton, housing 894 people and seven shelters are open for tropical cyclone Helene, housing 361 people. Additionally, there are 169 boil water notices in effect, impacting 255,000 people across the state of Florida. In the state of North Carolina, there are 34 boil water notices in effect, affecting 211,000 people. The report is available from: FEMA
