Guatemala (Update)

On 17 February 2023, the Guatemala National Coordination System for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish), provided an update on the cold wave affecting the country. As of 17 February, there were 89 people in government shelters, of which 47 were in the Department of Huehuetenango, 41 in Guatemala, and 1 in Alta Verapaz. 54,087 people were affected by severe weather, (186 increase since the 10 February report), 36 incidents have been reported, 100 people were evacuated, 166 people have been sheltered, and 32 homes were damaged.
