Mexico (Update)

On 14 August 2024, in Mexico, the Jalisco State Civil Protection reported heavy rains caused streams and the La Tecata Dam to overflow in Zapotlanejo municipality, Jalisco State, affecting <120 homes and causing one death. Additionally, media reports described water current from the dam overflow reaching two meters; 5 kilometers of roads were covered by debris and materials swept away by the current and there were 40 people evacuated. Additionally, media reports indicate 137 homes were affected, ten with structural damage, as well as, two gas stations, 18 businesses, and ten vehicles were damaged.
