On 14 March 2024, the Chile Ministry of the Interior and Civil Protection (SENAPRED per its acronym in Spanish) declared a red alert due to the wildfires in the provinces of Valparaíso and Marga Marga, Chile. A total of 1.8 hectares have been affected, and 6 firefighters were injured. A media report indicates that between 15 to 40 homes were destroyed, and shelters were opened for the affected families.
