Guatemala (Update)
On 13 August 2024, the Guatemala National Coordination for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) published that a total of 1,486 incidents have been reported nationally during the current rainy season, with floods, strong winds, and landslides being the most recurrent types of events. In addition, CONRED reported several families were affected in the municipality of San José la Máquina, Suchitepéquez department, due to flooding from heavy rains on 12 August, including moderate damage to several homes.
