Wildfire

United States of America (Update)

On 10 August 2023, the County of Maui, Hawaii, published an update regarding the wildfire in Lahaina, Pulehu, and Upcountry Maui. A total of 55 deaths (19 increase) have been reported. Additionally, on 11 August 2023, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), reported 20 injuries and indicated that there were 8,250 people evacuated and 1,692 structures destroyed (1,450 residential, 132 commercial) in Hawaii due to the wildfire. Guatemala (Update)

On 11 August 2023, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) published an update on the rainy season in the country. There have been 590 severe rain weather incidents reported (24 increase since the 7 August report). At least 1,560,818 people were affected (82,827 increase), 19,088 people were attended to (745 increase), 4,322 people were evacuated (41 increase) and 8,900 people are considered at risk (80 increase). There were 3,147 homes moderately affected (117 increase) and 116 (3 increase) severe damaged. The reports are available from: CONRED
