On 13 January 2025, the Civil Protection of Minas Gerais eported on the severe rains that struck the municipality of Ipatinga, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on 12 January 2025. In response, the municipality declared a state of emergency, citing 10 fatalities and the flooding of a healthcare facility. Additionally, Civil Protection disclosed that between 27 September 2024 and 13 January 2025, the state experienced 24 fatalities and the displacement of 1,776 residents due to weather-related incidents. Wildfires

United States of America (Update)

On 13 January 2025, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided an update on the wildfires affecting Southern California. The Government declared a state of emergency for Los Angeles and Ventura counties. In Los Angeles County, 105,100 mandatory evacuations remain in effect (decrease of 45,700 since 10 January report), and to date, 1,817 homes destroyed (763 increase) and 11,401 damaged.
