Ecuador (Update)
On 11 September 2024, the Ecuador Risk Management Secretariat (SNGR per its acronym in Spanish) published updated information on wildfires across the country. Between January and 11 September 2024, there were 2,703 wildfires (82 increase since the 10 September report) among 21 provinces, with 19 of the wildfires remaining active. A total of 366 people were affected (81 increase), with 228 families directly impacted (135 increase), and 20 homes were damaged (one increase). The report is available from: SNGR

Tropical storm / Hurricane Francine
United States of America (Update)
On 11 September 2024, the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reported tropical storm Francine reached category 2 hurricane-force winds when it made landfall with the state of Louisiana; it has since weakened to tropical storm force winds. On 11 September, the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided reported the government of the state of Louisiana, declared state of emergency in all the 64 parishes. According to the FEMA information, mandatory evacuations were issued for four parishes in the state of Louisiana and two shelters were opened.
