On 8 September 2023, the state Government of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, published an update on the heavy rains affecting the state. There are 41 deaths reported (2 increase since the 7 September report) distributed in the municipalities of Cruzeiro do Sul (4), Encantado (1), Estrela (2), Ibiraiaras (2), Imigrante (1), Lajeado (3), Mato Castelhano (1), Muçum (15), Passo Fundo (1), Roca Sales (10), and Santa Tereza (1); A total of 49 people are missing (37 increase), 3,130 people were rescued (385 increase), and 73 injuries were reported. There were 62,708 people reported as affected (10,551 increase) and 10,827 people were displaced (4,490 increase). The report is available from: Governo do Rio Grande do Sul
