On 11 October 2024, the Government of Florida provided updated information regarding the response and recovery efforts related to Hurricane Milton’s passage in the state. According to the information, the Florida Department of Health deployed nearly 600 emergency response vehicles to support emergency evacuations and patient transport. The health department is also supporting 43 special needs shelters. The Agency for Health Care Administration reported 406 health care facilities evacuated (54 increase since the 10 October report). According to the Power Outage.US,2,155,433 people remain without power in the state of Florida. Media is reporting 16 deaths related to the hurricane and 1,600 people rescued. As of 10 October, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) had reported storm surge and tropical storm warnings for Milton have been discontinued.
