Colombia

On 10 November 2024, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management of Colombia (UNGRD per its acronym in Spanish) informed that the Government of Colombia declared National Disaster due to the severe weather in the country. According to the information, in the department of Chocó, 30,000 families were directly impacted and 27 of the 31 municipalities were affected. Media reports over 39,000 families affected in the department of La Guajira, and another 100,000 people directly impacted in the department of Chocó. Costa Rica

On 9 November 2024, the National Commission for risk prevention and emergency attention of Costa Rica (CNE per its acronym in Spanish) informed that the Government of Costa Rica declared orange alert to for the Northern Zone and Caribbean Basin. According to the CNE, a total of 18 shelters have been opened in 6 provinces of the country. Media reports 1,179 people sheltered and more than 182 emergencies due to the flooding.
