Guatemala (Update)
On 10 July 2024, the Guatemala National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED per its acronym in Spanish) informed that on 9 July 2024, a total of 16 departments were affected by the heavy rains. According to the information, in 24 hours (9 July), a total of 173,746 people were affected. During the rainy season in the country, there have been 1,249 severe rain incidents reported nationally (78 increase since the 9 July report). According to the report, 6,937 people were directly impacted (163 increase), 17,119 people were evacuated (233 increase), and there were 17 deaths (2 increase).
