On 10 January 2023, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided information on the severe weather in the East Coast of the United States. According to the information, a total of 25 tornado touchdowns were reported in the East Coast Region between 8 and 9 January. A total of 3 deaths were reported in the states of Massachusetts, Alabama, and Georgia (n=1 each). In the state of Florida, the emergency operations center (EOC) was fully activated, and the state of emergency was declared. A State of Emergency has been declared in Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, and New York states. Additionally, power outages have been reported in New York (n=113,533 users affected) followed by Pennsylvania (n=72,866), New Jersey (n=44,300) Michigan (n=28,376), and Vermont (n=24,877).
