Brazil (Update)  

On 12 January, the Brazil Government of Bahia provided an update to the effects of the heavy rains and flooding that has affected the state since the end of November 2021. To date, there are 856,917 people who were affected 59,637 people who are displaced from their homes, 2 people remain missing, 26 fatalities were reported, and 523 people are injured. In total, 191 municipalities were affected of which 175 are still under a state of emergency decree. In the state of Minas Gerais, according to a media report, due to ongoing heavy rainfall in the state, 25 deaths were reported, and 30,500 were displaced. There are currently 374 municipalities in the state that are under a state of emergency. The reports are available at: Government of Bahia and Télam.
