Wildfires

 Bolivia (Update)

On 7 October 2024, the Bolivia Ministry of Defense (MINDEF per its acronym in Spanish) provided more than 20 tons of humanitarian aid, including food and supplies, to the affected people by the wildfires in the municipality of Riberalta, department of Beni, Bolivia. Media is reporting more than 11,700 families were directly impacted due to the wildfires in 746 communities, in nine departments in the country. The reports are available from: MINDEF and INFOBAE

Hurricane Milton

United States of America (Update)

On 8 October 2024, the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reported that Hurricane Milton, which had reached Category 4 earlier today, has intensified once again and is now back to Category 5. The United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reported that in the state of Florida, 11 counties reported evacuation warnings, of which, nine were mandatory evacuations. Tropical Cyclone Helene

United States of America (Update)

On 8 October 2024, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided an update on the impact of Post-Tropical Cyclone Helene in the United States. According to the information, a total of 170 deaths were reported in the states of North Carolina (n= 77), South Carolina (n= 47), Georgia (n= 34) and Tennessee (n= 12).
