On 29 September 2020, the Guatemala National Coordinator for the Reduction of Disasters (CONRED) reported heavy rain, flooding, and landslides occurred Monday, 28 September, in the departments of Guatemala and Sololá. Floods affected 2,410 people in the following municipalities: Santa Catarina Pinula, Villa Canales, Santa Catarina Ixtahuacán, and Nahualá. In addition, 59 people were evacuated and 22 persons were housed in shelters. The report is available in Spanish at: CONRED.

On 29 September 2020, the United States Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), reported a fire occurred on Sunday, 27 September in Shasta County, California, burning 37,000 acres of land. The fire threatened 1,600 homes in the communities of Igo, Ono, Platina, West Redding, West Valley, and Happy Valley (population of 5,500).
