Costa Rica

On 24 September, the Government of Costa Rica (CNE), reported heavy rain and landslides affected San Miguel de Desamparados, San Jose Province in Costa Rica where 34 families were mandatorily evacuated. In addition, media reported, in Cañas city, Guanacaste Province, overflowing rivers affecting several homes and causing trees to fall. To date, 600 families were affected due to landslides. Guatemala 
On 25 September 2020, the Guatemala National Coordinator for the Reduction of Disasters (CONRED) reported heavy rain and an overflow of the Daña river affecting several municipalities in Suchitepéquez Department, Guatemala. The report indicated that 193 people and 40 homes were affected and 105 people were evacuated. Media reported, that in 24 hours, heavy rain affected 30,575 people in five departments of the country. The most affected areas in department of Suchitepéquez were: Mazatenango, San Antonio Suchitepéquez, San José El Ídolo, and Santo Domingo Suchitepéquez. Overall, three deaths were reported.
