On 21 September 2020, the Civil Protection of Aoxaca State in Mexico, reported heavy rain affecting San Juan Lalana Municipality and the Region of Cuenca del Papaloapan. In addition, media reported, an overflow of the Chiquito and Manso rivers affecting at least 13 communities in Cuenca del Papalopan and 9 deaths due to the heavy rain.
