On 16 September 2020, the Guatemala National Coordinator for the Reduction of Disasters (CONRED), reported heavy rain affecting the following departments: Chiquimula, El Progreso, Guatemala, Huehuetenango, Petén, and Suchitepéquez. Within several hours of the heavy rains on 16 September, a total of 25,610 persons were affected by flooding and landslides. The report is available in Spanish at: CONRED.
