On 8 November 2020, the Guatemala National Coordinator for the Reduction of Disasters (CONRED), reported heavy rains caused by Tropical Storm Eta affecting a total of 240,103 people, of which 14,322 were injured. In addition, 60,787 people were evacuated from their homes and 7,125 have been housed in 86 shelters. In total, 14,288 homes have been reported with damages between slight and severe and another 150 homes were submerged due to a landslide caused by the storm in Quejá village in San Cristóbal Verapa where media reports that an estimated 100 people perished. Furthermore. the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NOAA) updated its advisory for Eta, reporting that Cuba and Florida state are at risk of flash, river, and urban flooding.
