Multi Country (Update)
On 4 November 2020, the Costa Rica National Commission for Risk Prevention and Emergency reported that 14 shelters in 10 cantons of Costa Rica are housing 341 persons affected by Hurricane Eta. In Honduras, there are 1,261 open shelters in 12 municipalities of the country in order to avoid overcrowding and the spread of COVID-19. In addition, media reported that in Honduras, 2,037 persons were evacuated, 339 homes were affected, and 307 people were housed in shelters. To date, 41 communities were left isolated, there was an overflow of 6 rivers and streams and 14 roads were affected. Elsewhere, in Guatemala, heavy rain and landslides caused by Hurricane Eta affected 27,770 persons in the departments of Alta Verapaz, Petén, Quiché, and Sololá.
