On 19 May 2020, the County of Midland, Michigan, United States, reported heavy rains which resulted in the collapse of the Edenville Dam and breaching of the Sanford Dam resulting in massive flooding in the county. As of 21 May 2020, over 11,000 persons have been evacuated in Midland County and no known fatalities or injuries have occurred. Additionally, media reported that an Emergency Declaration has been approved by the president, allowing Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to coordinate all disaster relief efforts in the state.
