Colombia (Update)

On 26 March 2021, the Colombia National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD), updated information regarding the first rainy season of the year in Colombia. To date, 275 municipalities in 25 departments were affected; the most affected departments were: Cundinamarca, Nariño, Antioquia, Huila, Cauca, and Valle del Cauca. Additionally, a total of 8,734 families were affected, 3,581 homes were damaged, 33 people suffered injuries, and 53 deaths occurred. With regard to infrastructure, 26 educational centers, 8 community centers, 420 roads, and 42 bridges have been affected. Heavy rain is expected this coming weekend in the following departments: Antioquia, Norte de Santander, Santander, Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Caldas, Risaralda, Quindío, Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Cauca, Nariño, Casanare, Meta, Caquetá, and Putumayo. On 31 March 2021, media reported heavy rain and floods affecting the neighborhoods of 14 de Abril and Universitario Alto in Cochabamba Department, Bolivia. The report indicated that in Alejo Calatayud Commune 400 persons and 50 houses were affected due to floods. The report is available in Spanish at: Eju tv Noticias.
