On 18 March 2021, the National Emergency Operation Center (COEN) reported recent heavy rain and landslides affecting the Canchaque District in Huancabamba Province, Piura Department, Peru. Media reported that 3,600 families were left isolated due to heavy rain and 60 houses were affected. Landslides additionally affected the following areas: Lagunillas de Chorro Blanco and Los Peroles de Agua Blanca. The reports are available in Spanish at: INDECI and El Tiempo Noticias.
