On 9 March 2021, the Ecuador National Risk and Emergency Management Service (SNGRE) reported heavy rain and the Chone river overflowing in the morning, affecting sectors of Juan Dama Adentro and El Naranjalin in Manabí Province. A total of 67 families were affected and several families were evacuated. In Guayas Province, floods affected several families in the Yaguachi Canton. In addition, an overflow of the Catarama river in Los Rios Province affected 28 rural areas. The report is available in Spanish at: SNGRE.
