On 29 June 2020, the the Chile National Emergency Office of the Ministry of the Interior (ONEMI) reported severe weather due to a frontal system affected several communes in the Regions of Atacama, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, Metropolitan, O'Higgins, Maule, and Biobío. In Biobío Region, 230 houses experienced minor flooding and 30 persons were sheltered in a school. In the Metropolitan Region, the greatest impacts were reported in the commune of El Bosque, where 25 homes were flooded; a total of 64 homes were damaged in the region. In O'Higgins Region, flooding occured in several homes, patios and homes were damaged in various communes, an additional 103 homes were reported to have minor damage and 175 people were isolated. In Maule Region, in the Linares commune, the Colbún and Villa Alegre channels overflowed, and 387 homes experienced minor damage while 30 reported major damage, moreover, media reported that 31,000 persons were without electricity in the affected regions.
