On 18 June 2020, the National Incident Information System (InciWeb) reported that the Bush Fire, located within Tonto National Forest, Arizona, has reached 114,941 acres (almost doubling since the last report on 16 June) with 5% containment. The Apache Lake community is being evacuated, in addition to previously evacuated Punkin Center, Tonto Basin, and Sunflower area communities in Gila and Maricopa Counties. According to media, the number of evacuees has reached about 2,000 residents (500 more since last report). Media reported the fire to be the largest of several blazing in Southwestern United States, and 7th largest inferno in Arizona State history.
