On 16 June 2020, the National Incident Information System (InciWeb) reported a 64,513 acre fire with 0% containment in Tonto National Forest, Arizona, forcing the evacuation of Punkin Center, Tonto Basin, and Sunflower area communities in Gila and Maricopa Counties. According to media, the number of evacuees is about 1,500 residents. Separately, a 2,703 acre fire is reported in Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land located a ridge east of Menefee Mountain near Mancos, Colorado. On 16 June 2020, media reported heavy rains and the rupture of the Guilherme Pontes dam in Sairé municipality, Pernambuco State, which forced 1,200 persons to leave their homes in Barra de Guabiraba municipality. Floods occurred in cities in the Agreste region and also in the Zona da Mata do Estado, where the Sirinhaém River (dammed by the collapsed dam) passes.
