On 9 June 2020, the Tijuana City Council reported that low humidity, high temperatures and the presence of winds from Santa Ana, California, United States, caused wildfires in various areas of Tijuana City, Baja California State, Mexico. In particular, the fires affected in the El Lago neighborhood, where 350 persons were evacuated. Other affected neighborhoods include Nido de las Águilas, Panamericano, Valle Bonito, Los Potros, El lago, Juan Ojeda Robles, Ojo de Agua, Villa Floresta, El Jibarito, Loma Bonita, Loma del Porvenir, and the 28th Infantry Battalion area. Winds from Santa Ana combined with high temperatures and low relative humidity are expected to increase risk of fire development and the community. Additionally, media reported that elsewhere in Baja California in Rosarito City, forest fires are expected to increase 200% until October 2020. On 10 June 2020, media reported heavy rains affected at least 48 families, 50 homes and 13 neighborhoods in Managua City, Nicaragua. Media reported that rains that lasted 45 minutes caused serious havoc in the channels such as El Dorado. Moreover, 1,200 workers were mobilized to the affected areas.
