On 9 July 2020, the Government of Mexico reported that the center of Tropical Storm Cristina is located southwest of the Jalisco coast and is expected to cause very heavy rains in Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Baja California, and Michoacán states in addition to strong gusts of wind and high waves on the coasts of Baja California Sur, Jalisco, and Colima.
