On 13 July 2020, media reported heavy rain and flooding that occurred across Rio Grande do Sul State in the past week caused the death of 2 people and displaced 3,899 people in 30 cities. In Roca Salles municipality in the Taquari Valley, more than 1,000 people were displaced and are staying with relatives. In the city of Igrejinha, 510 buildings were damaged. An alert is still in effect for the Ijuí, Pardo, Taquari-Antas, Caí, Sinos, Gravataí, Baixo Jacuí, Lake Guaíba basin, and for the Uruguay River. On 12 July 2020, media reported heavy rains that lasted several hours over the past weekend causing floods affecting 452 families and the death of two persons following a landslide in Santa Marta City, Magdalena Department. About 424 buildings in the city suffered moderate damage due to flooding. According to media, from 1 to 12 July, 5,643 families had been affected and 11 people died due to the rainy season in 19 Colombian departments.
