Bolivia
On 8 January 2021, the Information Agency (abi) in Bolivia, reported recent heavy rain and storms affecting indigenous communities in San Borja Municipality, Beni Department, Bolivia, with at least 5,000 people affected. Currently, several shelters are open; the Bolivia Civil Defense plans to establish 15-20 additional camps for families affected due to an overflow of the Maniqui and Hondo rivers. Guatemala (Update)
On 7 January 2021, the National Coordinator for the Reduction of Disasters (CONRED), provided an updated report on low temperatures affecting several areas of Guatemala. A total of 2,372 people (an increase of 1,274 people since the last update on 22 December 2020) were housed in 9 shelters in the departments of Guatemala, Quetzaltenango, Quiché, Sacatepéquez, Sololá, and Totonicapán.
