On 3 January 2021, the Bolivia Civil Defense, reported heavy rain in El Chapare Province in Cochabamba Department, Trinidad City in Beni Department, and several communities in the departments of Santa Cruz, Chuquisaca, La Paz, and Tarija. In addition, media reported there were 4 deaths, 7 people were left injured, and 6 are missing as a result of heavy rain and hail that lasted 20 minutes in Sucre City, Chuquisaca. In Tarija Department, landslides affected several transportation networks and left the Chaco region isolated. On 5 January 2021, media reported heavy rain and windstorms in San Rafael City, Mendoza Province, Argentina affecting 300 families and several households. The storm caused trees to fall and affected several roads. In Ugarteche District, 150 families and 40 persons were evacuated following the overflow of a canal flooding the communities of 17 de Abril and Union Oeste.
