On 27 December 2020, National Risk and Emergency Management Service (SNGRE), reported heavy rain and an overflow of several rivers occurred on 25 and 26 December in Gualaceo and Chordeleg Cantons in Azuay Province, Ecuador. Floods affected the upper part of the Motilones and Tasqui conduction pipelines to collapse, causing a shortage of potable water for 2,700 homes in Chordeleg. The SNGRE indicated that the canton of Chordeleg is currently in a state of emergency for 15 days until water service is restored. The report is available in Spanish at: SNGRE

On 28 December, media reported recent heavy rain and floods in Zaragoza Municipality, Antioquia Department, Colombia, affected 400 people and left 600 people isolated.
